This trek is regarded as a heavenly trek and is seen as one of the most beautiful treks in India. The route of the trek is 75 km northeast of Srinagar. Every day there is something new to view from the panorama of wild, rugged mountains, beautiful meadows, and alpine lakes.

Day 1. Getting to base camp – Sonamarg.
Day 2. Sonamarg (7,800 ft) to Nichnai (11,500 ft); 9 km, 6 hours.
Day 3. Nichnai (11,500 ft) to Vishnusar (12,000 ft); 12 km, 6 hours.
Day 4. Explore Vishnusar and Kishansar Lakes.
Day 5. Vishnusar (12,000 ft) to Gadsar (12,500 ft) via Gadsar Pass (13,800 ft); 10 km, 5 hours.
Day 6. Gadsar (12,500 ft) to Satsar (12,000 ft); 12 km, 6 hours.
Day 7. Satsar (12,000 ft) to Gangabal twin lakes (11,500 ft); 9 km, 6 hours.
Day 8. Gangabal (11,500 ft) to Naranag (7,450 ft); 11 km, 6 hours. Drive to Srinagar.
After reaching Srinagar, one will head towards Sonmarg. The drive will take approximately 3 hours.
It will take one 6 to 8 hours to travel 11 km to get to Nichnai.
You will come upon a dhaba where you can purchase the essentials that you need.
In the middle of the hike, you will come across meadows, and you will also encounter lush forests with pine and maple trees after crossing the meadows.
One will come across several communities with homes as one ascends.
One will spend some time at Shekdur before travelling to Nichnai. After eating lunch here, the journey towards Nichnai will begin. The place is about two hours away.
By day three, you should be able to make it to the 12,000-foot Vishansar Lake.
To go to Vishansar lake, you have to pass the Nichnai Pass. Here, one will be surrounded by peaks blanketed with snow.
The water at the lake will be a deep blue colour. This might be the final location where you can obtain a network.
After crossing Gangabal, you might locate the network’s next location.
One will also see a waterfall here. There will be snow-capped mountains to one side, and rugged, desolate mountains to the other.
Proceed towards the lake, where early in the morning the lake’s water appears to be colourless. On a sunny day, the lake will turn a rich blue colour.
One will have a full day to explore Kishansar and Vishansar on the fourth day. One should make sure to get enough sleep so that they will have energy for the upcoming adventure.
From Vishansar, one can hike to Gadsar. The 14 km hike will take 10 hours to complete.
You will first arrive at Kishansar Lake. Gadsar is at the top of this ridge, thus, one has to travel to get there.
After you arrive at Gadsar Lake, there will be many snow peaks visible.
Gadsar is a suitable place to set a camp, however, you have to make a promise to maintain the lake’s cleanliness and natural beauty.
Travelling from Gadsar to Satsar will take about 6 hours, and it is a 9 9-kilometre hike.
One will start the walk from the army barracks at Gadsar, and you can stay away from the freezing cold water by following the bridge.
Soon you will come to Maengandob, and proceeding forward will show an enthralling scenery.
Satsar is made up of seven different lakes.
This travel from Satsar to the Gangabal twin lakes is about 11 kilometers and will take 6 hours.
Between excursions, one will encounter woodlands. Initially, one has to descend, and then one will have to start climbing.
One will soon arrive at the third ridge’s summit. From the ridge, one can see two more lakes that are blue in colour.
For trout and fishing, Gangabal is well-known.
