Every hour on the Rupin Pass journey, something new awaits you. On no other journey have we witnessed scenery alter so drastically and swiftly. Every part of the Rupin Pass Trek has a unique vibe. But you are in awe all the time.
The road ahead of Rohru is where the surprises begin. The vast grasslands of the Chainsheel Valley abruptly open up from unpaved roads through trees. The drive itself is like going on a fast-forward trip. As you go to a height of 11,000 feet, you encounter a rhododendron woodland before emerging onto vast meadows.
You go down to Jiskun after Chainsheel. This charming Himachali village is where your journey starts. The Jakha hamlet is visible on the first day, perched on the mountainside. It appears to defy gravity. And you enter a dense forest of old fir just beyond this village. This woodland comes to an abrupt end, and you find yourself at a massive snow bridge that crosses the Rupin River. Saruwas Thatch and the breathtaking view of the Rupin Waterfall follow. Its sheer 1,500-foot drop surprises you regardless of how much you’ve heard of it or how often you’ve seen pictures of it.
You won’t soon forget the experience of scaling the 15,250-foot pass via this ravine. The trip comes to a breathtaking end on the opposite side of the pass with the expansive Sangla Kanda meadows and the majestic Kinnaur Kailash mountain.
The Rupin Pass trek’s combination of breathtaking scenery and high-altitude obstacles is truly astounding. The shocks continue till the very end of the journey, even before you arrive in Jiskun.
The trek is a 65-kilometer cross-over trek in the Himalayas that goes from Uttarakhand to Himachal Pradesh. The adrenaline running trek starts in Dhaula and ends in Sangla, passing through various stages including Bawta, Jakha, Saruwas Thatch, Dhanderas Thatch, Upper Waterfall, and Rupin Pass.
This is an amazing adventurous trek which should be visited during the pre-monsoon season and the autumn season. This is mainly so because these periods offer the best weather conditions, with pleasant weather and less snow on the trails. At the end, this makes it an enjoyable and safe trekking experience.
Rupin Pass trek is a must go to for those seeking adventure and wanting to experience landscapes.
Every turn during the trek will surprise you with some amazing sceneries that include a waterfall, snow bridges, and mountain vistas.
The waterfall that you will cross will leave one in awe of its beauty and make one’s experience magical.
While on this trek, one will see the picturesque Jakha village, which is also very well known as the hanging village.
Also, on this trek, you will get to walk on the snow and climb over ridges, which gives one a thrilling trekking experience.
